Collection of general information
Each time you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server logfiles) includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and so forth. This is strictly information which does not permit any traceability to your person. This information is required from a technical point of view in order to correctly deliver the website content you request and is unavoidable with Internet use. We use anonymous information of this sort for statistical analysis in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it.

Handling of personal data
Personal data refers to information by which an individual can be identified; that is, details which can be traced back to an individual. This includes the name, email address or phone number. However, data regarding preferences, hobbies, memberships or which websites someone has viewed are also considered personal data. Personal data are only collected, utilised and passed on by the host if it is legally permissible to do so or if the users agree to the data collection.

Provision of paid services
In order to provide paid services, we request additional information, e.g. payment information, etc.
In order to ensure the security of your data when it is transferred, we use a state-of-the-art encryption method (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, the information you provide will be used solely for this purpose. Subscribers can also be informed by email of circumstances relevant to the service or registration (for example, changes to the newsletter offering or technical data).

In order for a subscription to work, a valid email address is required. In order to verify that a subscription was in fact requested by the owner of an email address, we implement the “double opt-in” method. To do so, we record the newsletter order, the sending of a confirmation email and the input of the prompted response. No other data is collected. The data are used only in order to deliver the newsletter and are not disclosed to third parties.

You can revoke the authorisation to store and utilise your personal data for newsletter delivery at any time. Each newsletter includes a link for this purpose. You can also unsubscribe directly on this website at any time or use the contact information provided at the end of this document to inform us that you wish to unsubscribe.

Contact form
If you contact us by email or using the contact form, the details you provide will be used for the purpose of processing the request, as well as for any potential follow-up questions.

Deleting or blocking data
We adhere to the principles of data reduction and data economy. We will only store your personal data for as long as it is necessary in order to achieve the goals specified herein or according to the various data retention periods specified by law.

After the respective purpose ceases to apply or after those retention periods expire, the corresponding data shall be locked or deleted routinely and in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a Google Inc. web analysis service. Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files which are stored on your computer and make it possible to analyse your use of the website. The information regarding your usage of this website generated by the cookies is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA where it is stored. However, because IP anonymisation has been activated on these websites, your IP address is first abbreviated by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other states that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the complete IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and first abbreviated there. Google uses this information on behalf of the operator of this website in order to analyze your usage of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and to provide the website operator with other services related to the website usage and internet usage. The IP address transmitted from your browser within the framework of Google Analytics is not compiled together with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of cookies by using the corresponding browser software setting; however, please note that in such case you may not be able to use all of this website’s functions to their full capacity. In addition, you can prevent the collection of the data created by the cookie that is related to your usage of the website (including your IP address) by Google and Google’s further processing of such data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in that is available at the following link:

Link: Browser add-on for deactivating Google Analytics

In addition to or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can stop Google Analytics from tracking data on our webpages by clicking this link. An opt-out cookie will then be installed on your device. This will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data for this website and for this browser in future, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

Cookies
Like many other websites, we use what are known as “cookies”. Cookies are small text files which are transferred to your hard disk by a website server. This allows us to automatically receive certain details about your computer and your connection to the Internet, e.g. IP address, browser used and operating system.

Cookies cannot be used to start programmes or transmit viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies enables us to make navigation easier and allow our web pages to be displayed correctly.

The data we collect will never be transmitted to third parties, nor will a link ever be created to your personal information without your authorisation.

Of course, generally speaking, you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are normally set up to accept cookies. You can adjust your browser settings to prevent the use of cookies at any time. Please, use your Internet browser’s help functions to find out how to change these settings. Please, note that individual functions of our website might possibly not function if you disable the use of cookies.

External links
This website contains links to third party websites (“external links”). These websites fall under the liability of the corresponding website operators. Please, note that the Privacy Statement provided here does not apply to these other websites. We ask that you visit these sites directly to receive information relating to data privacy, security, data collection and the provisions on the transfer of data. The German-Iranian Cancer Society is not liable for actions taken by these websites or for the contents thereof.

Incorporation of third party services and contents
Third party contents such as Youtube videos, Google Maps materials, RSS-feeds or graphics from other websites may potentially be incorporated within this online content. This always requires for the provider of these contents (hereinafter referred to as “third-party provider”) to know the IP address of the user. Without the IP address, they wouldn’t be able to send the contents to the user’s browser. The IP-address is therefore required in order to display these contents. We strive to only use contents from providers which use the IP address strictly in order to deliver the contents. However, we have no influence on whether or not the third-party provider stores the IP address, e.g. for the purpose of statistical analysis.

Your rights to obtain, amend, block, delete and object to information
You have the right to obtain information on the personal data we collect at any time. You also have the right to amend, block or, apart from the data storage required for the execution of business transactions, delete your personal data. Please contact our Data Privacy Officer to do so. The contact information is provided at the bottom.

In order for a data block to be implemented, these data must be kept available in a block file for control purposes. You can also request for the data to be deleted, as long as there is no legal obligation to archive it. If such an obligation does exist, we will block your data upon request.

You can implement changes or revoke an authorisation by sending us a notification with future effect.

Changes to our data privacy regulations
We reserve the right to adjust this Privacy Statement in order to always keep it in line with current legal requirements or in order to implement changes to our services in the Privacy Statement, e.g. in case of the introduction of new services. Your subsequent visit will then be subject to the new Privacy Statement.
